I used to watch that show where the kids went to a Historically Black Collegiate University and faced real-world struggles. I had no idea when I was watching it, that I too, would one day go to an HBCU, but it was nothing like the tv show. This painting was inspired by Dwayne Wayne who rocked these glasses as a way to stand out from the other characters in the show and it sparked a fashion craze. I'm not gonna lie, I rocked a pair of these glasses when I was a kid. Mine where pink metal and I thought they were the coolest damn thing, ever. The coolest animal I could pair with the glasses would definitely be the peacock, because hello - they flip their tail up and own it.
